AVH’s Dedicated Staff
Dr. David Williams, DVM
David Williams earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. He has over 32 years of experience as a practicing vet, and has been owner and lead practitioner of Avondale Veterinary Hospital since May, 1990.
Dr. Williams pridefully puts pets and their owners first. He uses a personal, straightforward approach to pet wellness, treatment and communication with his clients.
In a world where vet clinics are increasingly corporate owned and directed, Dr. Williams maintains his commitment to the opposite kind of atmosphere: locally owned, accessible, friendly, delivering first rate care and the kind of personalized service that is increasingly hard to find.
As Practice Manager, Lynda takes pride in being the AVH’s “mother hen.” She’s responsible for coordinating all aspects of staffing, logistics, supplies, and making sure everyone is where they are needed, equipped with what they need to do their job.
The trust of an animal is truly special.
Lynda has been with AVH since January 2004. She has extensive experience in management, was a zoologist at Zoo Atlanta, has more than three decades of experience as a state licensed Wildlife Rehab specialist, including a license to work with rabies vector animals, Bats to Bobcats.
In her personal life, Lynda is an artist. She teaches sculpting and pottery classes. She was a spelunker for 25 years, and enjoys nature. She also enjoys her Koi pond and chickens. She shares her land with rescued Great Danes.
Lane Wages has been at AVH since March, 2008. From the front desk, she helps coordinate care for the clinic’s patients, keeping clients informed by phone and in person. Lane was a veterinary technician for 13 years, and understands the technical side of clinic’s operation.
I can tell you the staff is really well cross-trained. Different staff members can easily step in to help with different jobs. It runs like a well-oiled machine. At the same time, it feels like a family. It’s a great team of caring people.
When she’s not at AVH, Lane enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs, Hope and George.
Medie Paddleford, LVT
Medie has been with AVH since April, 2002. As a vet tech, she handles a broad range of pet care duties, including anesthesia monitoring, x-rays, drawing blood, and operating lab equipment.
On the creative side, Medie likes to draw, sculpt, and crotchet. She has four cats and a Whippet named Junior.
Deb has been with AVH since April, 2016 and brings 25 years of veterinary technician experience to AVH.
After 25 years of experience, I’ve had a chance to observe many veterinary practices. I’ve worked in other practices that weren’t nearly as caring. Dr. Williams is really compassionate. He truly cares about the pets he’s taking care of, as well as their owners.
Deb has dedicated time to Greyhound rescue efforts. Her Greyhound, Ellee, and Lab, Blondie supervise the cats she admits to having. Deb likes hiking with husband, walking with her dogs at Stone Mountain, and scrap booking. She has three adult children and two grandchildren.
Patrick is a veterinary technician and assistant, and has been with AVH since September, 2014.
Patrick’s four legged family includes dogs Ayla, Murdock and Kaiser. Patrick likes to cook, play video games, and enjoys Muay Thai boxing.
Mike is a veterinary technician, joining AVH in March, 2017.
When he’s not helping care for pets, Mike enjoys hiking and spending time with his German Shepherd, Murray. For fun, Mike composes music and plays guitar.
Amira is a animal enthusiast, dog trainer, groomer and our newest member, taking great care of all boarders needs.
She is married with two children, a German Shepard and Miniature Schnauzer. She enjoys drawing and training dogs.
